Posted on 17 June 2012 by HAHMP

Hello friends!

Bienvenidos!  This is the 17th episode of Houston on the Move. Today’s show opened up with Hugo Ortega, owner and executive chef of Hugo’s Restaurant.  He talked to us about his humble beginnings as a dishwasher and how his unique Mexican dishes are now allowing him to live the American dream.

The Star of Hope is a community organization dedicated to providing the basic needs of the homeless population.  Director of Community Relations, Marily Fountain informed us of the assistance they provide year-round and how everyone can help and contribute to this good cause.

Today’s show concluded with the Houston Fire Museum.  Director Tristan Smith joined us today to give us some history on the museum as well as inform of its educational and recreational features.
